Join us for a fun and beginner-friendly sewing class where you’ll create a beautiful set of four quilted placemats using coordinating fat quarters. This is a creative, approachable project that is perfect for learning essential quilting and sewing skills while making something practical and gift-worthy.
Session 1 – Cutting & Construction Basics (August 4th)
In the first class, you will focus on building your foundation skills. You’ll learn how to:
- Cut and prepare fabric accurately
- Combine and shuffle fabric pieces for a cohesive design
- Piece your placemat tops together
- Understand how the design comes together as a whole
This session is all about learning how the components fit together and building confidence in your cutting and piecing skills.
Session 2 – Quilting & Finishing (August 18th)
In the second class, we bring everything to life with finishing techniques. You will learn how to:
- Use decorative stitches for quilting
- Layer and quilt your placemats
- Add topstitching for a polished finish
- Complete professional-looking edges and finishing details
This session focuses on quilting and finishing techniques!
