Recommended Age: 8 years and up

A fun and creative sewing camp designed for beginner and growing sewists!

This program focuses on helping students build confidence and sewing skills at their own pace. Instead of everyone completing the same project, the first class will be used to get to know each student’s experience level, interests, and comfort with sewing. From there, students will begin with a project suited to their skills and continue advancing throughout the session.

Beginner projects may include:

  • Pillowcases
  • Tote or Drawstring bag
  • Scrunchies
  • Simple zip pouch or pencil case
  • Fabric basket
  • Sleep mask
  • Apron
  • Small stuffed plush or pillow
  • Small beginner patchwork projects

As students build confidence and develop new skills, they may move on to more advanced projects such as:

  • PJ bottoms
  • Quilts
  • Bags and totes
  • Zippered projects
  • Patchwork and quilting projects
  • Beginner garments
  • Personalized creative projects

Project timelines will vary by student. Those who progress more quickly will have the opportunity to complete bonus projects and continue expanding their skills.

Students will learn:

  • Sewing machine safety and basic operation
  • How to thread and use a sewing machine
  • Basic sewing terminology
  • Fundamental sewing techniques
  • How to read simple patterns
  • Measuring and cutting fabric
  • Basic hand-sewing skills
  • Pressing and finishing techniques
  • Problem-solving and sewing independence
