Description

Create a stylish and practical Holland Pouch, a quilted, boxy zippered pouch available in three versatile sizes. This quick, beginner-friendly project uses just three fat quarters and features a fully finished interior with neatly bound seams (no curved seams required!). You’ll learn how to prep and quilt your panels, install a zipper, box the corners, and bind the inside for a clean, professional look. Tips for working with directional fabric will also be covered.

Requirements:
This class is ideal for confident beginners. Students must have basic sewing skills and be comfortable operating their sewing machine. It’s a fast, fun project and the finished pouches make perfect gifts or handy makeup bags!

Please note: The Holland Pouch pattern by Center Street Quilts is required and not included in the class price. Students must purchase the pattern separately.

Please refer to the pattern for exact size-specific fabric and zipper requirements. General supplies include:

  • Holland Pouch pattern - by Kristina Brinkerhoff – Center Street Quilts

  • Three (3) fat quarters (exterior, lining, and binding/contrast)

  • Zipper (length depends on chosen size)

  • Foam, Fleece or Batting (your preferred stabilizer)

  • Coordinating Cotton thread for topstitching and quilting

  • Marking tool (wash-out or heat- erase)

  • Requires Walking Foot, Accufeed or Dual Feed for quilting

  • Sewing machine in good working order

  • Rotary cutter and ruler

  • Fabric scissors or snips

  • Wonder Clips or pins
