Description

It’s always a bit of a quandary this time of year – how do you give a gift card and still show off your sewing talents? The perfect solution: make a charming gift card wallet you can hang right on the tree!

Use a fun, themed fabric to personalize your gift — maybe a hockey or baseball print paired with a sports store card, or a cozy coffee bean design for a café gift card.

The best part? This wallet is not just for the holidays, it's practical year-round. It holds a couple of cards and slips easily into a pocket or purse, making it a thoughtful and lasting gift.

You’ll have plenty of time in this fun, relaxed class to make several wallets, perfect for friends, family, or even yourself.

What to Bring

  • Two pieces of 9" x 8" fabric

  • One piece of 9" x 8" lightweight fusible interfacing

  • Sturdy 100/16 sewing machine needle (you’ll be sewing through multiple layers)

  • Coordinating thread and ribbon

  • Basic sewing supplies – machine, pins, scissors, point turner, etc.

Don’t worry if you forget something,  you’ll be in the perfect place to top up your supplies!

A lightweight card pattern and plastic snaps to secure your wallet will be provided (but feel free to bring your own if you have them).

Seasonal Bonus!

As a special holiday treat, you’ll also have the chance to learn the tri-fold 4" square wallet, a popular project from our summer session. A reusable template will be included.
