Create a sculptural object while using up those tiny scraps that would normally end up in the garbage — recycling and repurposing at its finest!
Participate in a relaxing process that will introduce you to the pleasures of slow, meditative stitching on a 3-D object (in this case, a Wonky Box). You will end up with a decorative display object made entirely from scraps, perfect for gift giving or the beginning of your own handmade collection. Add a hanging ribbon, stack them together, or display them in a bowl for a fun and eye-catching arrangement.
This workshop comes with a warning though, the process is quite addicting! It’s also the perfect hand-stitching project to work on while watching TV, relaxing outside, or enjoying a quiet afternoon.
Don’t worry if you have little experience with hand embroidery, because Anne Marie will demonstrate all of the simple stitches used throughout the class.
Future embellishment ideas using beads, buttons, and decorative stitching will also be discussed.
It will be a fun class full of colour, simple raw-edge stitching, creativity, problem solving, and inspiration!
