Embellish a raw edge 100% cotton strip, with fibre, stitch, and the possibility of further embellishment with buttons, and beads.
The slow stitching movement is powerful, on-trend, meditative, and relaxing! It gives you a chance to use up the smallest scraps, &/or gives you a prescription to buy more fabric. Guaranteed to help reduce stress in your life, plus give you something to do with your hands, in-between other projects. I don’t know about you, but I like to have a little, in-between project, ready, and waiting to stitch at any time. This 3” wide scroll (or wider if you prefer) could be rolled, wrapped around a small spool, hung on a narrow wall, cut up as patches, used as either a belt, hat band, or hung from a piece of driftwood.
- The strips are torn, and this project is entirely made up of raw edge fabrics. It’s a very freeing process, but not for the faint at heart!
- Don’t worry if you have little experience with hand embroidery, because I will demonstrate the simple stitches that I use.
- Beading, and embellishing will be discussed, although there may not be time to actually work on them during the class. It’s also a great opportunity to use some of those special embellishments that you’ve saved.
I predict a fun class, full of colour therapy, and a lot of giggles!
