Aurifil Long-Staple Egyptian Mako Cotton Thread - 40 weight, 3-ply, 3000 m (3250 yd.) cone.
Aurifil’s 100% cotton 40wt 3-ply thread is produced in 73 colours and is wound on a yellow cone. It was made specifically to handle the rigor of today’s high-speed, high-tech longarm quilting machines. It has all the versatility and lustrous color of the original 40 weight, 2-ply, with the added benefit of extra strength from the additional ply. It is currently available in 73 colours. This thread is perfect for longarm quilting, but is also a star for garment sewing, bag-making, domestic machine sewing, and more.

Domestic Machines: Size 90/14 or 100/16 Topstitching Needle (40wt or 50wt in the bobbin)
Longarm: 4.0-4.5 (40wt or 50wt in the bobbin)
