Simple Sampler Quilt

A beginner quilter, or need a refresher?  This course is designed for you.  

The Simple Sampler is 12 Fun and Fast simple blocks. Different techniques are taught in each class as you create a 12 block lap quilt.  By the end of the course, you will be ready for almost anything!

Wednesdays, 1-4pm;  January 29, February 5, 19 & 26, March 5, 12, 19 & 26  

Quilting supplies should be purchased in advance of the first class.

Supplies
Fabrics: (you may wish to refer to the picture of the pattern for guidance)

Hint- Avoid using directional fabrics, stripes, plaids, diagonal designed fabrics.

• 2.75m - Main fabric for background, sashing & inner border
• 1.15m inner border and binding
• 1.5m outer border
• 7 Coordinating Fabric for Blocks:
  0.6m light
  0.7m dark
  0.6m of 2 dark fabrics
  0.5m of 2 medium fabrics
  0.35m medium fabric
   
• Not required for the first class.  1.8m Batting and 4.6m of backing fabric 
   

Other Sewing Supplies:

• Sewing Machine in good working order with new needle (80/12) and manual.
• 100% good quality cotton thread in neutral colour
• Fabric scissors/snips
• Rotary cutter (retractable one is recommended)
• Cutting board- 18 x24 is the most practical size
• Rulers- 8 ½”x24 (most versatile) and 6 ½” square
• Flat head pins 
• Seam ripper 
• Extra Sewing machine needles 80/12
• Magic Wand
